Dedicated to pushing the physical and emotional boundaries of dance, the response. seeks to challenge its members with original creation and commissioned works. The inspiration for this company lies in the ability of the human body, its capacity, its physical potential and its emotional make-up. The main focus is to investigate the possibilities of fusing together the articulation and sophistication of contemporary technique with the athleticism, dynamics and energy of urban dance and culture. the response. is primarily a vehicle for the creation of new works by founder and Artistic Director, Amber Funk Barton. Starting as a non-ensemble company, the response. will work project-to-project, its members recurring, yet changing and appropriate to the current creation. That being said, the response. is a reaction...to the emotions we feel, to the music we listen to... to the world that surrounds us...
